Jersey Mike's Subs gives back to MPSD

At our December board meeting we were able to present checks to Meridian High School, Magnolia Middle School, and Northwest Middle School with the proceeds from Jersey Mike’s spirit nights.  Thank you to Jersey Mike’s and everyone in the community who supported these three schools!

Jersey Mike's Subs gives back to MPSD

The MPSD Foundation in partnership with Community Foundation of East Mississippi received a check on November 13, 2024, from Jersey Mike's Subs from their Fall Spirit Nights. Thank you to Jersey Mike’s for their support of our local schools and to all who helped make this donation possible.

Foundation donates to JA of Meridian teacher mini-grant initiative

We are excited to partner with the Junior Auxiliary of Meridian on their Teacher Mini-Grant Initiative. We can't wait to see how the teachers of MPSD inspire students with these grants.

Donation to MCM-Meridian

On October 22, 2024, we had the pleasure of presenting a check for $500 to Mississippi Children's Museum - Meridian which will go towards school supplies for their Launch Into Learning afterschool program.

MPSD Foundation Reading Event

What a fantastic day at the reading fair yesterday! We were thrilled to see so many families come together to celebrate the love of reading. 


Special thanks to the Wildcat Wagon for helping to provide books and to the MHS cheerleaders, drum line and of course Wally Wildcat for energizing the event!  It was a great way to close out National Literacy Month! 


Thank you to everyone who came out and made it such a memorable experience!

MPSD Foundation to host Reading Fair

Join the MPSD Foundation and Community Foundation of East Mississippi for a fun-filled Reading Fair on September 29, 2024, from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. at City Hall Lawn! 


Dive into the world of books, enjoy the MHS Drumline, meet Wally the Wildcat, visit the Wildcat Wagon, and help us promote literacy in our community.

Foundation receives grant from CFEM

(WTOK) Thank you to the Community Foundation of East Mississippi for awarding the MPSD Foundation a grant in the amount of $1500 in a ceremony on April 25, 2023, at Dumont Plaza.

Meridian City Council discuss road improvements, educational partnership at work session

(WTOK) The Meridian City Council held a work session on Tuesday to discuss several topics aimed to advance the city in different areas.


The city council discussed several topics ranging from road improvements to new school programs.


The Meridian Public School District Foundation for Educational Excellence sat down with the city council to discuss plans for the program and its funding.

MPSD Foundation at Family Night at the Ray

The MPSD Foundation had the chance to participate in the Meridian Public School District's "Family Night at the Ray" on Thursday, September 14, 2023.  We had a blast seeing familiar faces and meeting new ones as well.

MPSD FOundation receives six Defibrillators from MS Power to give to schools

The Meridian Public School District Foundation of Educational Excellence was the recipient of six defibrillators from MS Power in a presentation today at the October meeting of the MPSD Foundation. 


Chris Phillips, MS Power District General Manager, and Derron Radcliff, MS Power Senior Market Specialist were at the meeting to present the defibrillators to the MPSD Foundation.


The MPSD Foundation then donated the items to the Meridian Public School District for use in the district.

MPSD FOundation awarded United of Way of East MS Mini Grant

The MPSD Foundation was presented a check for $1,500 by the United Way of East Mississippi for receiving a 2023 mini-grant. Kym Parnell, the Executive Director of the United Way of East Mississippi presented the check to MPSD Foundation President Neil Henry in a ceremony on Monday, October 2, 2023.

MPSD Foundation hosts first "Reading Is My Superpower" event

Meridian, MS | November 14, 2023 -- Much-needed rain didn’t stop residents of Western Gardens from attending the “Reading Is My Super Power” event on Tuesday, November 14, 2023. The event is an effort by the Meridian Public School District Foundation of Educational Excellence to spread the love of reading throughout the community. Read More.
